Panini puts out 100 card set featuring country musicians. I look at checklist and its missing big names such as Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, and "King of Country" George Strait. What? It's a country set and there's no Strait? Blasphemy! Anyway on to the pack.
5 - James Young - member of Eli Young band
2 - Terry Clark
46 - Tyler Hubbard
4 - Alabama - this is 25 card award winners subset
42 - Big Kenny Alphin - green parallel card. One half of Big and Rich. How can I not forget "Save the Horse, Ride the Cowboy" song?
94 - Jennifer Nettles
90 - John Rich - one pack I got both members of Big and Rich
85 - Darius Rucker - former singer of Hootie and the Blowfish he went solo singing country
Maybe I should listen to country instead building this set.
The checklist for this set was pretty weak as far as the big name classic stars go, but I did pick up one Joe Diffie relic auto from the product for my collection.
ReplyDeleteMight have to see if Brad Paisley is in there?? I highly recommend seeing him in concert if you get a chance. His shows are awesome. I've also seen (and recommend...) Big and Rich as well as the Zac Brown Band. All great shows!
ReplyDeleteI need to grab a few of these.
ReplyDeleteI've been listening to country music almost exclusively since 2006, but this set falls flat to me. Too many staged closeups- the card of Darius Rucker is the only one here I really like- and the format keeps it out of the hands of most collectors. (Hobby only, more than $100 for a box)
ReplyDeleteThe set is missing from my collection...I would like to have gotten a box but it's not worth the money for what you get and I can't justify it to myself.
I'm a huge fan of old country, especially outlaw country, but new country really just sounds like twangy pop. And this set is all about that twangy pop. Now if Panini was to put out a classic country set with cards of guys and gals like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, and autos from those people I'd be all over this.
