2019 Topps Archives Baseball Hobby Pack

Did my after work Thursday stop into Don's Sportcards here in Anchorage.  He's got a huge selection of junk wax he recently picked up and lots of other goodies floating around the shop right now.  I also picked up a sample pack of this year's Topps Archives.  This year's set features players on the 1958, 1975 and 1993 designs.

Here are the pack odds and NPN address.
Let's have a look at the cards.  I will say I got a Tigers hot pack.  First up the 58's.

The 1975.  I will say it's kind of cool to see Cobb on the 1975 design.  My biggest peeve with the set is they included my all time favorite player Robin Yount again, but put him in the 1993 design, a set he was featured in as an active player.  It would have been neat to see him on the 1958 design.  Ahem.

If you're counting that's 3 Tigers in the pack of 8 cards.
 The 93's.

 Fergie!

I also managed to beat the odds, especially since I literally only bought one pack to try out.  And hit one of these Expo's 50th Anniversary autos.  They're not all that rare.  As a matter of fact I think they're the most common auto in the set falling 1:54 packs.

  1. Tigers hot pack! The Fassero auto is very cool. I was hoping Target would have these since I don't have an LCS. No such luck..yet.

  2. Nice! Archives last year was really a let down. Looks like it might be halfway decent this year.

  3. Knowing of the Expos content, I bought the Nationals slot in a case break of the product and ended up with 5 of their autos, along with the inserts. So, yes. They are plentiful.

  4. Other than my Braves team set getting ordered, I'll have to wait until the nickel and dime boxes fill up, then grab em all.

  5. Love that the Expos are getting some love in this set. The Fassero auto is great.
The back of Chris Davis' card shows him hitting 0.168 last year in 470 at-bats. I wish clubs didn't feel they had to play a player just because of the large contract they awarded them. Sigh.

  6. Been seeing the Expos autographs pop up on eBay. It's made me excited to add new material to my Expos PC. Congratulations on the nice pull.
