1993 Leaf Baseball Series 1

I'm with a pack of 1993 Leaf and its at whopping 18 cards. This is one of best designed set for its photography on the front AND back. I will post the backside as it feature city landmarks.

198 - Darryl Hamilton - night view of downtown Milwaukee

103 - Bill Gullickson

94 - Bob Welch - sunset view of Bay Bridge

85 - Ozzie Guillen - downtown Chicago and not even near the tracks of Comiskey

3 - Juan Guzman - look in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a World Series ring

115 - Nolan Ryan - Dallas skyline with Reunion Tower

76 - Kent Hrbek - got a view of the Metrodome

67 - Mike Devereaux - looks like they stack two photos of top of each other. You have bay/shoreline on the bottom and what looks to be outside of Camden Yards on top.

58 - Brian McRae

210 - Darryl Strawberry - sunset view of downtown LA

211 - Tom Gordon - a flash in the fountains. Close up shot of the horse statue at JC Nichols Memorial Fountain.

112 - John Franco

123 - Mike Morgan - Buckingham Fountain in the background

134 - Bob Walk - instead a city landmark they went with steel because Pittsburgh is the Steel City

201 - Ken Hill - outside parliament building

40 - Kenny Lofton

21 - Frank Viola - downtown Boston complete with custom house clock tower

12 - Jim Austin

Most of city background shots are taken from the sunset/night. I like how they put "These players and teams represent this city" aspect. Leaf set wins hands down for this design.

2017 Pokemon TCG Sun & Moon: Guardians Rising

Greetings...

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  Detective Pikachu was released this past Friday, the first live action / CGI Pokemon movie.  I honestly don't know what took them so long to make one.  Anyway, my younger son is all about trying to see this movie...he's talked about it more than Avengers: Endgame.

Anyway, The Wifey got him a box of Pokemon cards that had what appeared to be a Detective Pikachu-themed pack inside.  I had planned to take pics of those cards for the site, but the boy had already opened the packs and their whereabouts are unknown at the moment.  He said something about not trusting me to give the cards back to him.  Like I collect Pokemon cards...I have other things to worry about.

So it was off to the scanned folder to see if I had any saved files there and yep, I had one more pack.  Here's what he got:

11/145 – Litwick

72/145 – Pancham

Litwick is freaky-looking.

The resource page says there's over 140 cards in the expansion set, but the cards say 145.  No idea

why they don't match.

31/145 – Snorunt

105/145 – Castform

Snorunt has no qualms about running up your electricity bill.

33/145 – Vanillite

78/145 – Murkrow

The first 6 cards in the pack are the Commons.

111/145 – Talonflame

Energy

Talonflame is the Rare card in the pack.  Kids must be so bummed to get Energy cards.

110/145 – Fletchinder

95/145 – Sliggoo

113/145 – Bewear

These 3 are the Uncommons.

Anyway, that's the pack.  I don't think any of these guys are showing up in the movie, but I'm sure kids won't be flocking to see this flick to see Sliggoo in action.

Happy Mother's Day to the moms out there, and thanks for reading!

2016 Cryptozoic The Walking Dead Season 4 Part 1

Greetings...

Hope everyone had a good Star Wars Day / Cinco De Mayo weekend.  On a recent Dollar Store run, I checked the card section and saw a box for The Walking Dead key-chains.  I remember them in the Target card aisle a few years ago, and they were probably 3 or 4 bucks a pack.  It was quite surprising to see former retail packs in the Dollar Tree.

The box didn't have any key-chains though; I don't know if someone else already came in and bought them all.  I did however find plenty of Walking Dead trading cards. so here's one of them:

Obviously, the Retail at the bottom means this too was at one time at a Target or Wal-Mart card aisle and also probably ran 3 bucks a pack, so hey, if you were trying to complete the set, head over to your local Dollar Tree.  Here's what I got:

#07 - Quarantine
#42 - Independence

Part 1 covers the first 8 episodes of Season 4, which aired in the fall and winter of 2013.  In terms of the show, this is "Farmer Rick" at the prison, where the group deals with a deadly virus.  The first part of the season ends with The Governor's assault on their settlement.  I'm not sure how Cryptozoic is handling the splitting of the season, since "Carl eating pudding" is from the first episode of the second half of the season.

Here are the backs of the first 2 cards:

Not very descriptive, Cryptozoic.  It's been 3 years since the episodes aired, it's OK to give a better write up.  I'm not sure of the card numbering though...the top number is the card number, per the checklist, but I don't know what the bottom number is.

#28 - Defending the Prison

Cell phone cameo!

Bonus points for the extra picture in the back.  I'm not sure if Cryptozoic is going in episode order either...if this is from the last episode of Part 1, it should be much later in the checklist.

#Z5 - Terminus Puzzle Set Checklist
#43 - Reconciliation

There are 9 cards that make up the puzzle, so it'll look nice on a 9-pocket page.  These come 1 in 3 packs.  Once again, I'm not sure how Cryptozoic is handling the set since the gang deals with Terminus at the end of Season 4.

The Reconciliation card does follow the Independence card, so at least the episode cards are grouped together.

Great summary, guys.

Anyway, that's the pack.  I got a couple other packs of other releases so I'll get to them eventually.  Have a great week guys, and thanks for reading!
