Hello everyone! This is my first time posting on this blog. I have been registered for quite a while now, but I just haven't had anything to add that hasn't already been covered. Until now!
I recently picked up a number of different packs out of a bargain bin for 25 cents each, some of which haven't been shown on this site before, so hopefully I can start participating a little more.
First up will be these 1998-99 UD Choice Preview basketball cards. Looking online I was able to see that this is a 55 card set, even though you would never know since the card numbers aren't any different from the actual set. The only difference between these and actual card set, is the gold Preview (which doesn't scan very well) written across the front of the card. Each pack contains 6 cards that are in a cellophane wrapper, so you can easily see who's in the front, and most of the time see who's on the back.
Here's what the unopened pack looks like:
Now for the contents:
Juwan Howard #153: I was such a big fan of his, as a player, and as a person.
Vin Baker #131: He had so much talent. Unfortunately his demons were able to get the better of him, and ultimately prevent him from having as a good of a career as he should have.
Tim Duncan #126: I have been a big fan of his as well. I think it's safe to say that there will never be another player like him again.
Sean Elliott #127.
Tim Duncan #126: No I didn't accidentally show the same card twice, it's a double. With three out of the six cards in here being San Antonio players, I wonder if this counts as a Spurs hot pack.
This would probably be a good time to show one of the backs:
And for the final card:
Penny Hardaway #100: Another very talented player who's career was heavily impacted by injuries.
That's it for this pack. Overall I thought it was a pretty good pack for a quarter, even with the duplicate Duncan.
Thanks for taking a moment to look at my pack.

Welcome to the "family"! I have not seen an unopened pack of them since they were new. Never figured out why they did this for this set only and no others, but it's certainly a unique set in NBA card history.
Thanks, Billy! This set never made much sense to me. It seems like the only real incentive to have bought these, was the Jordan finals shots insert set. Other than that, you could just wait until the actual set came out.
Never seen these, thanks for posting!
You're welcome! And thank you for looking at the post.
More proof of UDs amazing photography is the Duncan card. Black uniform on a yellow backgroud. GORGEOUS!
