2012 Bowman Platinum Retail

I'll be the second to bite on the 2012 Platinum.



I liked the hobby 2010 Platinum product quite a bit. Those were fun boxes to break. 2011 was okay, but I started getting confused...it became increasingly difficult to tell what was what...refractors, parallels, x-fractors, etc. etc. Everything was too shiny!

Anyway, here's a pack of 2012's version, lets see what it has to offer.



I don't have too much to say about this guy. Apparently he "compares" to Jose Bautista.



Josh Hamilton always makes me enjoy a pack a little bit more.



David Freese... apparently this is partially the "all-alcoholism" pack.

2012 Bowman Platinum

Who is going to be the sucker who buys a 4-card pack of Bowman Platinum and posts it on this blog?

Yeah, that'd be me.

There is no reason why I would buy Bowman Platinum, other than to post it here.

But upon purchasing it, I was amused by the odds on the back of the wrapper.

#BPP90 - Mason Williams, Yankees

This is my prospect chrome in the pack. I like the consistency and feel of these cards.

Williams is in high Class A. Some New York media are calling him "the next great Yankee." The card back compares him to Michael Bourn. That doesn't say "Next Great Yankee" to me.

#78 - Jered Weaver, Angels, gold parallel

The quality of Bowman Platinum seems to get better every year. But the look on Weaver's face is freaking me out.

 #59 - Josh Hamilton, Rangers

The crystal ball says Hamilton will come into a large sum of cash in late 2012.

#68 - Albert Pujols, Angels

Four cards. Two Angels. You can rate my ability to pull Angels above every other skill I possess.

Shockingly, there was no red refractor patch in the pack.

Oh, well. Maybe next year. I won't be buying any more this year.
