1991-92 Fleer Basketball (Jumbo)

We got a jumbo pack of 1991-92 Fleer Basketball containing 53 cards. Randomly inserted are Rookie Sensations cards which was hot cards at the time.
49 - Chris Jackson - what with Fleer designs in 1991? Baseball have the infamous yellow cardboard. Basketball have blue with small NBA logos on it. Jackson would become known as Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. Was on Big3 team this season still firing three's.
171 - Terry Porter
59 - Joe Dumars - Pistons superstar helped built Pistons into a playoff contender as his playing days ended.
145 - Matt Guokas
151 - Charles Barkley - is he laying up or grabbing a board? Beckett was right. Cards are better with a ball in the shot.
120 - Jack Sikma
193 - Derrick McKey - block!
119 - Dan Schayes - snagging that ball
210 - Kevin Johnson
189 - Benoit Benjamin
115 - Del Harris - its one of those rough nights for him
111 - Glen Rice
83 - Reggie Miller - Miller time and dishing it out
199 - Theodore Edwards - one of few cards with his name instead his nickname Blue. Good shot of him doing 360 dunk
163 - Dan Majerle - Thunder Dan got a big man coming after him
233 - hey look its Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Bernard King, and Charles Barkley on the bench at the All-Star game
197 - Thurl Bailey - wearing his trademark sport goggles shooting the ball over Scottie Pippen
160 - Jeff Hornacek
10 - Chris Ford
57 - Mark Aguirre
8 of 10 - Chris Jackson - got a rookie sensations insert. This would have netted me $5 back then.
76 - Vernon Maxwell
19 - Dell Curry - father of Stephen Curry passing the ball
17 - Tyrone Bogues - at 5'3 he's one of smallest men to play. Also few cards of him with his first name instead his known nickname Mugsy.
15 - Ed Pinckney - slamming it down
125 - Jerome Richardson - often companies will switch either Jerome or Pooh on the cards.
174 - Antoine Carr - laying it up
209 - Wes Unseld - is that fan heckling me?
223 - Hakeem Olajuwon
31 - John Paxson
48 - Herb Williams
81 - Vern Fleming
234 - Clyde Drexler goes for a layup but is fouled by Kevin McHale. Footage found on 59:20 mark on YouTube video.
198 - Mark Eaton
161 - Kevin Johnson
178 - Dick Motta
208 - Bernard King
64 - Isiah Thomas - great player on the court, lousy in the management side
50 - Marcus Liberty
232 - Kendall Gill
104 - James Worthy
228 - Dee Brown - won the All-Star Slam Dunk contest that year
1 - John Battle - card no. 1 for third and final year
131 - Chris Dudley
190 - Eddie Johnson
236 - Patrick Ewing rejects Karl Malone. That would be called goaltending at today's game.
95 - Mike Schuler - the look of a dream job turning to a nightmare in an instant
196 - Sedale Threatt - he was good player on NBA Live 96 for Genesis. I would him firing threes in the game.
71 - Mitch Richmond
154 - Hershey Hawkins - made his only All-Star appearance as Larry Bird replacement
68 - Sarunas Marciulionis - Magic Johnson cameo!
23 - Johnny Newman - Boom-shaka-laka-laka
172 - Cliff Robinson - Karl Malone cameo

Other than design some of these cards are fun to rip.

The blue bar running down the side on the front is such a waste of space. Was never a fan of this card's design, but gotta admit Fleer did a great job with the card backs.

I like the research you did on the Clyde Drexler all-star card. I don't know that I've ever even thought of matching up the picture on the card with the "live" action.

Love the all-star cards - players on the bench and the Drexler in-game photo card. Tons of great players. Fun memories. Fleer definitely took too much of the card with that giant border on one side. Not sure what the heck they were thinking but otherwise I was OK with this set.
