Recently I won a giveaway of four "junk wax" era packs on Twitter from Joey of Dub Mentality. The best part is that it give me a few blog posts for the site! It's been nine years since the last post on 1991 Fleer Baseball, so we're due!
I want to take this moment to say that in 1991, Fleer had the worst year of combination of designs across all sports in the history of trading cards. If you need your memory jogged, check out 1991 Fleer Football and 1991-92 Fleer Basketball. You can disagree with me, but you'd be wrong. The people that designed and approved those sets can't still be employed in the hobby, can they?
I know that most collectors loathe the set design and color. As a 12-year old I didn't dislike it as much as a do now. Throw on your sunglasses (I'm only half joking) and let's take a walk down memory lane.
I should really try to comment on some of the cards but there's nothing to be said. It's 1991 Fleer Baseball.

In my humble opinion...
1991 Fleer Baseball > 1991 Fleer Football > 1991-92 Fleer Basketball
It is so ugly, it almost is good. Brings back the memories!
The memories it brings back aren't good. It's the year before I quit the hobby (at least buying new product). Can you blame me?
Also, what an uninspiring pack! When Matt Williams is the "star" of your pack, you're in trouble.
Thanks for sharing!
That was my hey-day of collecting... I think I have hand-collated sets of all three sitting in the closet.
