1991 Topps Cracker Jack Series 2

Greetings!

I hope everyone enjoyed the New Year's festivities, and may 2013 bring much health and happiness to you and your family and friends.

Time to get back into the swing of things.  My massive reorganization project stalled in the last few weeks (due to holidays and overtime), so I hope this post gets me motivated to get going again.  It's another quickie post...1991 Topps Cracker Jack Series 2!

Not sure how I wound up with these cards, so I do not normally consume Cracker Jack.  I also do not know if there were one or two cards that came in the box as the "surprise toy".  These sure do beat what's currently found in the box (last time I saw a "surprise toy", it was some sort of Benjamin Franklin face trivia thing).

Per the interwebs, there were two series of 36 cards each.  Here's the link to the Beckett checklist for Series 2.  Here's what I got:

#9 - Matt Williams
#19 - Ron Gant

MMMMMIIIIIINNNNIIIISSSSSSS!!!!!!!!  (My apologies if I misused the term).

Here's the backs for those who are interested:

Don't know why it says "Complete Major League Batting Record" when they only show 1990's stats.

The Cracker Jack cards mirror the 1991 flagship set, as you can see with mini-Gant and regular-Gant:

They should go back to putting cards in food packaging again.  That's all for now...thanks for reading!

I agree. Years ago, on my older blog, I ranted that the Cracker jack prizes are totally lame. Even when they put out "cards" lately, they suck.

Something back to mini cardboard would be nice.
