2002 Topps Series 2 Hobby Edition

Hey all. I am glad to be back here on A Pack To Be Named Later with a pack of 2002 Topps Series 2. I grabbed a couple of these out of the Vendo-O-Pack machine so I will do one here and one over on my Pack Rip Cafe

2002 Topps Series 2 Hobby Edition

#525 Tino Martinez (Cardinals)
#638 Julian Tavarez (Cubs)
Prospects RC #690 Greg Montalbano (Red Sox)
#642 Arizona Diamondbacks

A good start with a rookie, a team card, and Tino Martinez.

Prospects RC #687 James Harden (A's)
NL Gold Glove #710 Orlando Cabrera  (Expos)
#405 Darin Erstad (Angels)

Two Subset cards are OK. Anybody know if this is Rich Harden as the almanac has #687 listed as Rich Harden, not James Harden.

#574 James Baldwin (Mariners)
#620 Jason Giambi (Yankees)
#550 Ken Griffey Jr. (Reds)
Checklist 1 of 4

A Yankee and a future HOFer round out the pack and a checklist (not counted as one of the 10 cards).

BY THE NUMBERS:

Total Cards: 10
Teams Represented: 10
Rookie Cards: 2 (Montalbano, Harden)
Sub Sets: 3 ( Prospects x2, Gold Glove)
Parallels: 0
Inserts: 0
Hits: 0
Keepers for Me: 3 (Team Card, Giambi, Griffey Jr.) + checklist

MY RATINGS:

Front Design: 7.75 out of 10 Nice in game pictures , nice design, team logo, not a great color for the borders.
Back Design: 8 out of 10 Nice design, team logo, good player fact, full career stats, easy to read print, same not so great color for the borders.
Player Selection:  7out of 10 Good

FINAL OVERALL RATING: Infield Single. (OK as rated here) 3 keepers for me, 3 subset cards, 2 rookies, and a nice mix of players make this pack a hit. I've seen better but also worse.

Thanks for Reading!

His first name is James, so I'm gonna say... yes.
