2004 Fleer Tradition

Here's a pack I stumbled upon in an old repack box tucked away in the corner of a local variety store chain. Do variety stores still exist? I don't know what else to call Bi-Mart, a place where you can buy guns and jugs of wine in one quick trip.

279 - Terrence Long

256 - Jacque Jones

121 - Odalis Perez (I don't know what to make of this design, but it definite screams Fleer.)

199 - Tim Wakefield (Wakefield is still at it, just a short time away from his 45th birthday.)

143 - Mariano Rivera

492 - Diegomar Markwell / Chad Gaudin / David Sanders Trio Prospects (A trio of suck, aside from Go Go Gaudin, perhaps.)

- Dummy card

303 - Mike Cameron

388 - Royce Clayton (I hate all things Milwaukee today, no matter how old.)

80 - Ted Lilly (Another A's player who had moved on by this point.)

32 - Phillies Team Leaders (Fill your eyes... with double vision!)

Not a bad selection of cards all things considered. I miss Fleer because the cards were simple and great for autographing. I wonder what ever happened to Diegomar Markwell.

Reminds me of 1990 Fleer. I hate the fact they doubled the same image on those team leader cards.

I agree with the laziness of the multiple-use images on the Team Leader cards.

I totally forgot that Jacque (pronounced "Jock") Jones even existed. He was always one of those bubble guys on the waiver wire for Fantasy Baseball. I think Ty Wigginton or Rajai Davis have the current crowns for that category.

The T-Long card totally reminds me of this:
